Tips and Tricks for feeding your malamute
Is dry dog food safe?
Although we feed a raw diet and recommend it we also know that does not work for everyone so here are a couple things to keep in mind when picking out a dry food. 80% of the food is made up of the first 5 ingredients listed so make sure those are good quality ingredients. Ideally the first 3 should be protein followed by starches or grains. Stay away from words like meat meal, by-product, and any type of meat or fat that is not identified “animal fat” Listed below are several brands of commercially available dog foods we trust. We’re more than happy to talk all about kibble as a former employee of the dog/cat food industry so please reach out with any questions. Below is a list of some of the brands we recommend

Ensuring that you feed a balanced diet is critical to proper health of your malamute. Contrary to the average owners understanding, canines do not consume a high protein diet.
We feed a prey based diet that we have modified over the years to adjust for local accessibility, regional needs and activity level.
We also feed “veggie muffins” One muffin twice a week which is a mix of fruits, vegetables, oils and multi vitamins to ensure our dogs have complete nutrition. You can find that recipe here
